Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton highlighted Kamala Harris’s candidacy as a step forward in the legacy of women leaders who have aspired to hold higher positions. “Each generation has passed the torch,” she remarked.

She highlighted Rep. Shirley Chisholm’s groundbreaking presidential campaign in 1972, marking her as the first woman to seek the Democratic Party’s nomination.
